Aside from the novel, I'm also working on a compilation of short stories and poetry along the theme of religious fiction. This is possibly the introductory poem - I'm not sure yet.

A brief introduction:
George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire is a fantasy series originally planned as a trilogy, but is now awaiting the release of its fifth book, with seven total planned. It begins with A Game of Thrones. Basically, you have a five-sided war stretched all across the world, and countless people richly characterized in tailored settings as carefully as tooled as the rest of the stories and substories. You have the Starks to the North, in Winterfell; you have the Lannisters to the South, whose daughter sits the Iron Throne with her lord husband King Robert Baratheon. Along the coast are the Iron Islands and House Greyjoy, with their Ironborn and vicious naval fleet. And across the narrow sea. there are the last of the Targaryens, two young silver-haired and violet-eyed children who seek to reclaim their throne from Robert the Usurper.
This series contains: romance, gore, incest, politics, justice, delusion, kinslaying, kingslaying, patricide, exotic locales, beautiful linguistic detail, poetry (ballads), raping and pillaging, falls from grace, unlikely redemption, princeses, bastards, ladies kissed by fire, magic, herblore, beautiful descriptions of clothing, food so mouthwateringly detailed that a vegan would crave roast duck with apples, despair, injustice, whores, princes, weapons of all kinds, poisons, resurrections, the walking dead, direwolves, krakens, sellswords, knights without honor, honest smugglers, ACTION, ADVENTURE, AND FIVE KINDS OF RIGHTEOUS TRUTH.
And so, so much more.
Anyway, I am rereading this most amazing series, and I'm about halfway through the third book: A Storm of Swords. This post will largely be about that part of the series, though the spoilers will range throughout all four books.
( And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low? )
Anyway, I should get back to writing. So, go buy A Game of Thrones, because I need someone to geek about it with!status: contemplative music: you love until you don't, you try until you can't

I should be working on the manuscript instead of making an IJ. But, you know.
Anyway it's the fifth time I've started the damn thing, but I think I'm close this time.
This is Lilah and Egypt, who are Anchoret's parents. Again, just character sketches.

This is a sketch with Bone Brute and Momoiromiya, the sort-of parents of Daire and Sebastian, who are the main characters. Specifically, Momoiromiya is Sebastian's mama; vaguely, Bone Brute raised Daire.

This whole issue with LJ is ridiculous. It wasn't enough that they were randomly deleting journals for 'inappropriate content'. That was enough for me to start looking for a new place to live, so to speak. Awhile back I'd gotten the same screen names on IJ and GJ. Apparently GJ is having severe issues, so I am here on IJ. Possibly this is permanent. Actually, this is very likely.
What sealed the deal? I'll tell you. It was the freaking ads. I can understand paying for an LJ so have the features and no ads. I can understand having ads and some features for free. But I definitely will not abide by having advertisements on the free account that I have had for years, and have never had ads before. It is uncouth. Changing the rules for new accounts, fine, but not ones that have been around and should rightfully be grandfathered in.
Okay, enough bitching about LiveJournal. I think I will be quite happy here. 100 user icons? Seriously? No, really, seriously? That's fantastic.
Rough introductions: I'm fiction writer. Religious fiction, fantasy/speculative fiction, fanfiction. Fiction, fiction, fiction. I'm also an artist, but this is all across the board. Drawing/illustration, design, painting, collage, 3-dimensional sculpture. The only thing I don't do/am not interested in is photograpy. And I love video games, mostly Infinity Engine based. Baldur's Gate is probably my One True Love.
I'm currently working on a novel. It is very hard. I will not post excerpts from it, but there will likely be character sketches/drabbles. Otherwise, fanfiction will probably abound.
